Curriculum Delivery Statement
At Longwill School, the National Curriculum is delivered through a structured, knowledge-rich and engaging approach that places pupils at the centre of their learning journey. Lessons are carefully sequenced to build upon prior knowledge, ensuring that key concepts and skills are developed progressively across all subjects.
Through a combination of direct teaching, practical experiences, collaborative activities and independent learning opportunities, pupils experience the breadth and depth of the curriculum. They are encouraged to think critically, ask questions and apply their learning in meaningful contexts through a Sign-Bilingual format.
Teachers use ongoing assessment to monitor progress, adapt instruction and provide targeted support and challenge, ensuring that every learner can achieve success. The curriculum is further enriched through cross-curricular links, educational visits, cultural experiences and community engagement.
Personalised Learning
Lessons are adapted to meet pupils’ distinctive learning profiles, which often includes small group and one-to-one teaching. This enables students to develop both academic excellence and the personal qualities needed to thrive in the modern world.
