Eco Warriors & Net Zero
At Longwill, we believe that every child has the power to make a positive difference to the world around them. Our Eco Warriors group plays a leading role in promoting sustainability, environmental responsibility, and helping our school work towards its Net Zero goals.
The Eco Warriors are a team of enthusiastic pupils who are passionate about protecting the environment and encouraging positive change within our school community. They meet regularly to discuss environmental issues, share ideas, and lead projects that help make Longwill a greener and more sustainable place to learn.
Empowering pupils to lead environmental change and help create a greener, more sustainable future.
Through a range of practical activities, pupils learn about climate change, biodiversity, recycling, renewable energy, waste reduction, and the importance of caring for our planet. They take an active role in monitoring energy use, promoting recycling initiatives, reducing waste, and encouraging environmentally friendly choices throughout the school.
As part of our commitment to Net Zero, pupils learn about the impact that everyday actions can have on the environment and how small changes can contribute to a more sustainable future. The Eco Warriors help raise awareness across the school by leading assemblies, creating campaigns, and supporting whole-school environmental projects.
Developing Future Environmental Leaders For our Deaf pupils, these opportunities provide valuable experiences to develop leadership, teamwork, communication, and advocacy skills whilst contributing to a cause that affects communities around the world. Through hands-on learning and real-life action, children develop a sense of responsibility and understand that their voices can make a difference.
