Key Information
Audiology
Audiology is an important part of daily life at our school. Listening checks are carried out each day to ensure that hearing aids, cochlear implants and other audiological equipment are working effectively, enabling pupils to access learning and communication throughout the school day.
Through Deaf Studies, we support Deaf pupils to develop confidence, independence and self-advocacy skills. Pupils learn about their hearing needs, including understanding their audiograms and recognising when they may need additional support.

We encourage children to take an active role in managing their own audiological equipment, such as cleaning hearing aid tubing, changing or charging batteries, and reporting any faults or concerns to an adult.
Phonak Roger Radio Aid System The Phonak Roger radio aid system is used within lessons to improve access to speech and learning by reducing the impact of background noise and distance from the speaker. This helps pupils to participate fully in classroom activities and discussions.
